Erectile dysfunction, or ED, is when a man has difficulty getting or maintaining an erection that is firm enough for penetration. It is common for a man to have problems with erections from time to time, but ED that affects the enjoyment of sex and causes anxiety is not normal and can be treated.
Studies have shown the incidence of ED in men in their 40s is around 40%, for men in their 50s it is 50%, for men in their 60s it is 60% and for men in their 70s and higher, it is 70% or more.
